MANCHESTER-After leading City to their fourth consecutive Premier League victory in May, Guardiola seemed to imply that the upcoming season may be his final with the team. On Friday, though, the former manager of Barcelona and Bayern Munich made it possible for him to stay at the Etihad for an additional year.

What are Guardiola’s achievements with Man City?

Speaking on the eve of City’s friendly versus AC Milan at Yankee Stadium, he talked about his future during the team’s preseason visit in New York. “When I’m leaving, I will say I’m leaving, but I didn’t say that,” Guardiola told reporters. Among many other honors, he has guided City to six Premier League crowns, two FA Cups, and their first-ever Champions League. “We’ll observe the situation. However, I won’t completely rule out renewing my contract. Because I would want to remain, I would really like to stay. Nine years in the same club today feels like an eternity. Thus, I want to be sure that’s the best choice. Not only for the players, the club, or me. I have to witness them running as they have for the past eight years, regardless of the competition or the event. “I’m positive I won’t remain for eight more years! Both managers and players would benefit from a recharge. Simultaneously, we have experienced triumph and continue to win Premier Leagues, making it to the finals, and participating in events such as the Champions League. I’m feeling this way at the moment.

Why does Guardiola want to extend his stay?

The 53-year-old also talked about the continuous rumors surrounding Ederson, the goalie, who has recently been connected to a move to the Saudi Pro League. Guardiola hinted at a sense of unease on Wednesday while discussing the 30-year-old Brazil international’s circumstances. The player still has two years remaining on his deal. Two days later, though, the City manager was more open about what would happen to his first-choice goalie. “I really hope that Eddie will stay with us,” Guardiola continued. “I really hope he stays. After leading City to their fourth consecutive Premier League victory in May, Guardiola seemed to imply that the upcoming season may be his final with the team. His current contract is set to expire in the summer. On Friday, though, the former manager of Barcelona and Bayern Munich made it possible for him to stay at the Etihad for an additional year.

How are Man City fans reacting to the news?

According to skysports, “They continue to run the same way they have for the past eight years, regardless of the event or competition, and this is what I have to witness. “I’m positive I won’t remain for eight more years! Both managers and players would benefit from a recharge. The City manager hinted that this season may be his last when he said he was “closer to leaving than staying” earlier in May. But Guardiola hinted at a possible contract extension during the preseason tour in the United States, suggesting he hasn’t made a final choice yet. Guardiola said, “When I’m leaving, I will say I’m leaving, but I didn’t say that,” prior to a pre-game friendly versus Milan at Yankee Stadium in New York. “We’ll observe the situation. However, I won’t completely rule out renewing my contract. I wish I could remain because I wish I could stay. As per goals, Guardiola made an attempt to rephrase remarks he had made earlier following Manchester City’s fourth straight Premier League victory. His remarks that he was “closer to leaving than staying” were, he said, a reflection of his eight years at the club rather than a declaration of his impending departure. “I stated that I had been a member of Man City for eight years.” I will thus be leaving in eight years. I’m leaning more toward leaving than remaining because of this. But I didn’t declare my departure!

Who might replace Guardiola if he leaves?

He won the club’s first Champions League trophy, two FA Cups, and six Premier League crowns since joining City in 2016. “I want to make sure that’s the best choice. Guardiola said, “Not just for me, for the club, for the players.” Even yet, he continues to have faith in his players’ commitment and effort, highlighting their unwavering work ethic and spirit of competition that positions them as favorites for both the Premier League and the Champions League the next season.
