Sheikh Hamad bin Jassim bin Jaber bin Mohammed bin Thani Al Thani, born in 1959, and informally referred to as HBJ, is a prominent Qatari politician. He served as Qatar’s Prime Minister from April 3, 2007, until June 26, 2013, and held the position of Foreign Minister from January 11, 1992, to June 26, 2013.

Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, born on November 20, 1970, commonly known as Sheikh Mansour, is a distinguished Emirati politician and member of the ruling family of Abu Dhabi.

He currently holds the positions of Vice President, Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Presidential Court, and is a key political figure in the United Arab Emirates. Both of these prominent personalities are known to be the richest men in the world. In this post we will dwell deeper into who is richer among the two of them.

Sheikh Jassim Vs Sheikh Mansour Business and Wealth

    Sheikh Mansour Business and Wealth

Mansour serves as the Vice Chairman of the Emirati state-owned Mubadala Investment Company.[9] He previously held the position of Chairman at IPIC. Following the exposure of the 1Malaysia Development Berhad (1MDB) scandal and the arrest of Khadem al-Qubaisi, who managed IPIC in 2016, IPIC was merged into Aabar Investments.

Mansour holds a 32% stake in Virgin Galactic, achieved through a $280 million investment in the project via Aabar in July 2009. Additionally, Aabar possesses a 9.1% stake in Daimler, acquired for $2.7 billion in March 2009 Reports indicated Aabar’s interest in raising this stake to 15% in August 2010.

In September 2008, Mansour acquired Manchester City Football Club from the former Thai Prime Minister Thaksin Shinawatra. The takeover negotiations by the Abu Dhabi United Group, backed by Mansour, were successfully concluded by September 23, 2008, leading to the transfer of ownership.

Furthermore, he holds ownership of the City Football Group, established in 2014, which encompasses Manchester City FC, Melbourne City FC, New York City FC, Mumbai City FC, and other entities.

    Sheikh Jassim Business and Wealth

Al Thani stands among the world’s wealthiest individuals,, having previously managed Qatar’s $230 billion sovereign wealth fund until 2013. He earned the moniker “the man who bought London” from British tabloids due to his significant holdings in the city, which include iconic properties like the Shard, Harrods, and the InterContinental London Park Lane. Furthermore, he is the owner of the Paris Saint-Germain football club.

Reports indicated that Hamad bin Jassim bin Jaber Al Thani acquired Banque Internationale à Luxembourg and KBL European Private Bankers through Precision Capital,[28], thus forming one of the largest banking groups in Luxembourg.

As per filings with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission, he also possesses a 3.05% stake in Deutsche Bank through Paramount Services Holdings Limited. Interestingly, his relative, HH Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani (the former Emir/Ruler of Qatar), holds another 3.05% of the shares through a different company called Supreme Universal Holdings.

    Sheikh Jassim Net Worth

According to Sunday Times Rich List his estimated net worth is £2 billion. In May 2015, Hamad acquired Picasso’s Les Femmes d’Alger (Version O) at auction for a staggering $179.4 million, including associated fees, setting a new record for the highest price ever paid for a painting. Additionally, he possesses a luxurious super-yacht named the Al Mirqab, valued at an impressive $300 million.

    Sheikh Mansour Net Worth

The Emirati royal, Sheikh Mansour holds several prominent positions, including serving as the Chief Executive of Abu Dhabi’s Mubadala Investment Company, which manages the emirate’s substantial $370 billion sovereign wealth fund.

He also holds board memberships in the Abu Dhabi National Oil Company and chairs the Emirates Nuclear Energy Corporation, Abu Dhabi Commercial Bank, and Emirates Global Aluminium.

With an estimated net worth of $16.8 billion, Mansour manages a highly profitable business portfolio in his role as the head of Aabar Investments. This portfolio includes a significant 32% stake in Virgin Galactic and a notable 9.1% stake in Daimler.

Sheikh Jassim Vs Sheikh Mansour: Who Is Richer

Sheikh Jassim and Sheikh Mansour both possess substantial wealth, yet Sheikh Mansour’s fortune eclipses that of Sheikh Jassim by a significant margin. As reported, Sheikh Jassim’s net worth amounts to $1.2 billion (£892 million). In sharp contrast, Sheikh Mansour’s estimated wealth stands impressively at approximately $16.8 billion.

Sheikh Mansour is furthermore acknowledged as one of the world’s wealthiest sheikhs, with a net worth of $4.9 billion. It is important to mention that Sheikh Jassim is a member of the Gulf state’s ruling Royal Family, which collectively possesses a combined net worth of £275 billion.
