This weekend the match between Manchester City and Liverpool is very interesting. The reason is that Erling Haaland, Ederson, and Nathan Ake are all gearing up to potentially play for Manchester City in their upcoming clash against Liverpool this weekend.

The health of Haalands has been the hot topic to discuss before the game on Saturday at the Etihad Stadium. During the match he hurt his ankle again. This was done while playing for Norway against the Faroe Islands in a Euro 2024 qualifier. Due to this injury he could not play in Norways again against Scotland. Even though his ankle hurt a lot and he couldn’t move around much, Norway’s team doctor said it wasn’t a major problem.

This health issue in Haaland is not the first time. He has suffered from this ankle trouble earlier this month also.  Earlier this month, he twisted his ankle in a match against Bournemouth, but he managed to return quickly for the Champions League fixture against Young Boys BSC.

Now, it seems he’s on track for another speedy recovery as he was spotted training with City on Thursday. Both Haaland and City shared pictures of him working out on the field at the Etihad Campus, indicating his readiness for the Liverpool match.

Goalkeeper Ederson also joined in Thursday’s training session after recovering from a foot injury sustained during the thrilling match against Chelsea before the international break. Meanwhile, Nathan Ake, who missed the Chelsea game due to a knock, was also seen training with the team. He had withdrawn from the Netherlands squad for their matches against Gibraltar and the Republic of Ireland.

Rodri appears to be fit as well after being omitted from the Spain squad due to discomfort. However, Mateo Kovacic is likely to miss out against Liverpool due to a recurring quad problem that caused him to withdraw from Croatia duty.

City’s injury list still includes key players like Kevin De Bruyne and John Stones, while Matheus Nunes and Sergio Gomez are uncertain due to injury doubts.

Liverpool, on the other hand, will be without Andy Robertson, Thiago Alcantara, and Stefan Bajcetic for the City match. However, they received a boost as Ibrahima Konate, Ryan Gravenberch, Curtis Jones, and Joe Gomez returned to training on Thursday. Additionally, Alexis Mac Allister is back from suspension, and Kostas Tsimikas is fit after leaving the Greece squad early this week.

As both teams prepare for this crucial encounter, fans are eager to see how the returning players will influence the outcome of the match. With Haaland potentially leading City’s attack and Liverpool welcoming back several key players, the stage is set for an exciting showdown at the Etihad Stadium.
