A group of individuals can be seen gathered around a ticket machine in the Terminal 2 parking lot in a recent 30-second video. One guy and two women police officers are holding a man who is wearing a bright blue shirt and shorts that match. The male cop is surrounded by another individual in a black T-shirt who seems to be about to assault him. The two then appear to start striking one other, and in the video that the Manchester Evening News was able to get, the first man strikes the two female police many times. The male cop tases the man in the black T-shirt; the second man then seems to have pushed down the other two police and punches the male officer in the back of the head. The first man seems to get tased by the female cops after he is wrestled to the ground by the male officer. The video appears to stop as the male cop stands up and appears to kick the man in the head. The cop was seen stamping on the man’s head in the original footage.
Why is the mayor urging caution?
Following the publication of the new video, Greater Manchester Mayor Andy Burnham advised the public “not to rush to judgment” and stated that “this is a complicated situation with two sides to it.” “Four individuals were arrested and are currently on police bail following incidents in the run-up to the footage people have seen,” Mr. Burnham stated.
