MANCHESTER- Pep Guardiola is apparently not keen on one player joining Manchester City’s pre-season, despite the fact that two teams are supposedly interested in signing him.

Who will win the race for the £60m Man City star?

Both sales and player signings have not occurred for City this summer. However, there may be action on both fronts shortly. The majority of the conversation over potential departures has focused on Ederson, with Saudi Pro League team Al-Nassr hoping to sign the Brazilian “within a week.” In the event that Ederson leaves, Stefan Ortega is anticipated to take over as the next leader. Joao Cancelo is another player the Saudi Pro League is interested in, and an intriguing assertion has been made in a Spanish article. SPORT has reported that Pep is reportedly not too keen to have Cancelo available for Manchester City’s preseason. At the CFA, some players have already returned, and on Monday, when City’s preseason formally begins, others will do likewise. The team will next take a plane to the US later this month for a four-match trip that will stop in several different locations. The players’ comebacks will occur in phases. Cancelo, however, is a player Pep does not want since they allegedly had a falling out over game time halfway through the 2022–2023 season. Cancelo, who cost £60 million when he joined City, has spent time on loan at Bayern Munich and Barcelona. The manager does not have him in his plans. The fact that the Spanish powerhouses cannot afford him despite his desire to rejoin Barcelona puts City in a challenging position.

Is Guardiola’s decision a sign of a bigger squad overhaul?

Guardiola managed Barcelona from 2008 to 2012 after spending the best years of his playing career there. Most people agree that the team he put together in 2010–11 is the best club team ever. As their next head coach, Barcelona has recently appointed Hansi Flick, a former manager of Bayern Munich, and they will be looking to duplicate Guardiola’s achievements. Joao Cancelo is eager to return to Barcelona, but Guardiola is not likely to make it back to Camp Nou anytime soon. Because of an inflammatory interview he gave earlier in the year, the Portuguese full-back, who spent last season on loan in La Liga, doesn’t seem to have much of a future at Man City. Guardiola gave an update on Cancelo’s situation and acknowledged that a compromise may be reached to demonstrate that the change is in everyone’s best interests.

How long will the player be kept out of action?

According to manchestercity, It was recently reported that City was discussing Cancelo with two Saudi Arabian teams. It seems like they want one of these teams to take Cancelo’s attention away from Barcelona. When City departs for the US later this month, it will be fascinating to see if Cancelo is traveling with them. It’s possible that SPORT is trying to stir things up with this. As per teamtalk, Pep Guardiola, the 53-year-old manager of Manchester City, is the subject of a lot of rumors at the moment, but he has said that he would never play for Barcelona again. The Spanish manager is about to begin his eighth season at the helm of Man City, and as his current deal is slated to expire at the end of the current campaign, there is a lot of conjecture around his long-term future. Guardiola has made it clear that he is considering his long-term future, and it is presently believed that Man City is getting ready for life without him. After winning his sixth Premier League championship, Guardiola told reporters, “The truth is I am closer to leaving than staying.” There have been discussions about Guardiola maybe going back to Barcelona, but the Man City manager doesn’t seem to be interested in this at the moment.

Can the player rediscover form away from Man City?

Guardiola declared, “It has to be the best thing for everyone. “We’ll talk to his agents, and the clubs will talk.” He is a player for us, and he will have to return for the preseason if we can’t come to an arrangement. It will happen once more if he wants to continue at Barcelona and the clubs are able to come to an agreement. It’s unclear how much Man City will be willing to pay this summer for the Portuguese full-back, who cost them about £60 million at first in 2019. Given that his contract at the Etihad is still in effect until the summer of 2027, the English champions have some negotiating leverage in this agreement.
